ASU police reported the following incidents Wednesday:

  • A 20-year-old male student was charged Thursday with suspicion of possessing drug paraphernalia, police reported.

    The student was apprehended on the 500 block of east University Drive, cited and released on the scene, according to the police report.

  • A 24-year-old male ASU student was arrested Monday on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI with a blood-alcohol content of .08 percent or higher and extreme DUI with a blood-alcohol content of .15 percent or higher, police reported.

    The suspect was apprehended at 11th Street and Mill Avenue, according to the report.

    He was processed and released from the ASU Police Station, police reported.

Tempe police reported the following incidents Wednesday:

  • A 38-year-old man was arrested Monday on suspicion of aggravated assault and domestic violence, police reported.

    The man is suspected of threatening his stepdaughter with a baseball bat during a verbal argument, according to the police report.

    Witnesses reported fighting and said the man went into his bedroom and grabbed the bat, pointing it at his stepdaughter while yelling, police reported.

    The suspect then proceeded to slam the bat on the ground in front of her, according to the report.

    The man was booked into the Tempe City Jail and held to see a judge, police reported.

  • A 29-year-old Mesa man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of possessing marijuana, police reported.

    He was apprehended on the 600 block of South Hardy Drive where he was contacted for sleeping in his van, according to the police report.

    A record check revealed a Tempe city warrant for failing to appear in court for a charge of being in possession of drug paraphernalia, police reported.

    Police saw a multicolored pipe and a plastic bag filled with a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana in the car, according to the report.

    The substance and pipe were seized and the man was held to see a judge on the warrant charge, police reported.

  • A 26-year-old Tempe man was stopped for failure to yield from a private driveway Wednesday on the 1300 block of West Broadway Road, police reported.

    The man was asked to exit the car and a plastic bag filled with a usable quantity of marijuana was observed in the driver’s seat, according to the police report.

    The suspect was then arrested for possession of marijuana, and further search revealed a usable quantity of cocaine in his front right pocket, police reported.

    He was booked at the Tempe City Jail and released pending charges, according to the report.
