ASU police reported the following incidents Monday:
- Between 11:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Thursday an unknown suspect or suspects damaged a black car belonging to a 32-year-old male ASU student, police reported.
The vehicle was parked in Parking Structure Four at 1100 S. Rural Rd., according to police reports.
The car had damage from the rear driver’s side door down the quarter panel, police reported.
The estimated damage is $500, according to the police report.
There are no suspects, leads or witnesses at this time, police reported.
- Between 12 and 2 p.m. an unknown person or persons stole an 18-year-old male ASU student’s laptop computer, police reported.
The computer was in the student’s dorm room in Manzanita Hall on the Tempe campus, according to the police report.
The estimated loss is $1,500, police reported.
There are no leads, suspects or witnesses at this time, according to the report.
- Between 1 and 2 p.m. Sept. 18 an unknown suspect or suspects stole an 18-year-old female ASU student’s laundry basket, police reported.
The basket filled with clothing was taken from a laundry room in Palo Verde Main on the Tempe campus, according to the police report.
The estimated loss is $1,510, police reported.
There are no leads, suspects or witnesses at this time, according to the police report.
Tempe police reported the following incidents Monday:
- A 23-year-old male ASU student was arrested Sunday on suspicion of aggravated assault and resisting arrest, police reported.
The man was apprehended at 1:55 a.m. at 605 S. Mill Ave. after he sat on the head of a handcuffed man in custody who was seated on the curb, according to the police report.
After the officer told the man he was under arrest, he pulled away from the arresting officer. The officer was forced to grab the suspect and complete a leg-sweep to bring him to the ground, police reported.
The officer rolled the man onto his stomach and told him he was under arrest for a second time and needed to put his hands behind his back, according to the report.
The man refused, and the officer used two knee-strikes to his torso to stop resistance, and the officer was able to handcuff him, police reported.
The handcuffed suspect who was sat on said he desired and would aid in prosecution for being assaulted, according to the report.
The man was booked into Tempe City Jail and held to see a judge, police reported.
- An 18-year-old Mesa man was arrested Sunday on suspicion of aggravated assault and aggravated DUI, police reported.
He was apprehended at 1375 E. University Drive, according to the police report.
The man was pulled over for failure to remain in his lane and an improper turn, police reported.
Investigation revealed the man had a suspended driver’s license, according to the report.
The man attempted to flee from the scene and when the officer tried to detain him, he punched him in the right shoulder with a closed fist, police reported.
He was taken to the ground, detained and taken to Tempe Saint Luke’s Hospital for treatment, according to the report.
The suspect had slurred speech, bloodshot and watery eyes and an odor of alcohol on his breath, police reported.
A blood draw revealed his blood-alcohol content was .297 percent, according to the report.
He was transported to Tempe City Jail and held to see a judge, police reported.
