Hopefully, the ASU wrestling team didn't forget what their home arena looks like.
The Sun Devils -- who have not hosted a match since Jan. 16 -- will return home Sunday to face Portland State.
ASU posted a 4-2 record during the road trip, including four straight Pac-10 wins. The Sun Devils will look to keep their position atop the Pac-10 standings Sunday in their second-to-last match of the regular season
The Vikings (1-14, 0-6 Pac-10) have struggled this season, and bring with them just one wrestler ranked in the top six in the conference. ASU has eight.
A win against Portland State would put ASU one victory shy of a perfect Pac-10 regular season. The last time the Sun Devils (9-6-1, 6-0) finished undefeated in conference play was in 2002.
During Sunday's intermission, ASU will honor the 1980 wrestling team. The squad, coached by Bobby Douglas, set the pace for future ASU teams.
The team took home the first Pac-10 Championship in ASU history and finished fifth at the NCAA Championships, the best finish in school history.
Track and field
The ASU track and field team will be pulling double duty this weekend when they send 14 members to the Holiday Inn Team Invitational in Nampa, Idaho, and another 22 to Seattle for the Husky Invitational.
Boise State will host the Holiday Inn Team Invitational, where ASU will send sprinters and jumpers. The men's 4x400m relay team will face a major test when they go up against No. 5 Louisiana State. Last week, the ASU team posted the second-fastest time recorded this season.
ASU will send their distance runners and throwers to the Husky Invitational, which is hosted by Washington.
"This meet will give us a chance to get a good feel for our distance runners," ASU coach Greg Kraft said.
Men's tennis
The ASU men's tennis team hits the road this weekend against two highly touted conference opponents.
The Sun Devils (2-0) open their Pac-10 season against
No. 26 California (2-1) today at the Hellman Tennis Center in Calif. The Golden Bears are led by No. 21 Conor Niland and No. 27 Daniel Sebescen
ASU then travels to No. 7 Stanford for their first match-up with the Cardinal. Stanford (4-0) has already recorded a conference win over California.
Last season, ASU dropped matches against both teams.
In its opening weekend, ASU defeated New Mexico State 7-0 and UC Santa Barbara 6-1.
