This is tough to admit publicly because I'm such a loyal citizen of Planet Orange, but I'm starting to doubt our fearless leader, Mike D'Antoni.
I love everything about D'Antoni's fast-paced style that has turned the Suns into the perennial winners of the "Most-Fun-Team-To-Watch-In-The-NBA" award.
But if the Suns aren't hoisting the Larry O'Brien Trophy in mid-June, D'Antoni has to go.
It's a scary idea, but when the Suns traded for Shaq, the idea was to win this year. Maybe next year.
And lately, the problem with some of Phoenix's recent losses hasn't been the chemistry. It's the coaching.
Like Sunday, when Dallas went on a 16-0 run in the fourth quarter.
16-0?
C'mon Mike, make a change, put in a defensive specialist like D.J. Strawberry or Brian Skinner.
And don't be scared to go deeper than seven-player rotation in the playoffs.
Because if Phoenix doesn't win the championship this year, then you're obviously not the short-term coach the Suns need in order to win now.
