Can Pac-10 football finally get some love? Please?
Everyone, including myself sometimes, is always all over the SEC, boasting them as the conference of all conferences when it comes to college football.
However, year after year, Pac-10 teams consistently field some of the nation's finest teams and battle each other in conference play while getting little respect from the rest of the country, who still suck up to the pitifully weak Big Ten, Big East, Big XII, etc.
Take, for example, the days leading up to last Saturday's ASU/Oregon game.
All the sports talking heads could talk about was how the Sun Devils hadn't beaten anyone worthwhile and how they didn't stand a chance against the Ducks.
Meanwhile, nobody says anything negative about "the" Ohio State University, which plays against powerhouses like Youngstown State before pounding on the marshmallow soft Big Ten every season.
It's ridiculous that Oregon is ranked third, below OSU and Louisiana State, in the Bowl Championship Series rankings after winning a hard-fought game against then-No.4 ASU.
If the Ducks win out and aren't in New Orleans playing for the national title at the end of the season, I may find myself forced to jump on the push for a college football playoff.
