First Watch is a national chain with stores spanning 11 states, but it manages to feel like a good ol' neighborhood breakfast spot in all four of its Valley locations. Its formula is similar to countless other breakfast places: open at the crack of dawn, serve breakfast through lunch and close in the early afternoon. The difference at First Watch is the creative use of unlikely ingredients to make good omelettes, French toast and griddlecakes. First Watch even brings its Florida roots to the menu with the Floridian French toast, which combines wheat germ with thick sourdough and fresh kiwis, bananas and berries. Make sure to order it with a side of First Watch potatoes. This place is enough to make any desert dweller feel like they're sipping morning coffee in the Keys.
