Tech Check: Has anyone ever told you? You look just like...

The people behind MyHeritage.com are out to prove that there's a little celebrity in all of us. Perhaps more than a little. You just might be 78 percent Reese Witherspoon and 13 percent Julia Roberts, thanks to your smile.

MyHeritage.com, originally a genealogy Web site, has introduced a face recognition tool that allows you to compare a photo of yourself to famous faces. Finally, you can discover the truth behind all those Johnny Depp-look-alike compliments you get.

The service is offered free on the Web site. Users can log onto MyHeritage.com, click on "Find the Celebrity in You" and upload a photo to the Web site for celebrity comparison. You have to register before you can enjoy the fun, but the process is quick and easy.

After logging in, you can try the face recognition tool multiple times. Once your photo is uploaded, the software matches it against various celebrity pictures. In less than a minute, around ten celebrity matches pop up with percentage readings that tell you how close of a match the celebrity's photo is to yours.

Photos that work best, based on several user attempts, are those where your face is close-up and clearly defined from the background. Also, the angle at which you are facing may affect what matches are listed. Try multiple photos since you may get different results each time.

The program also allows you to upload your celebrity comparison to your MySpace or Facebook account.
