Police Beat


ASU Police reported the following incidents Thursday:

A 19-year-old male ASU student was arrested Tuesday night at Sonora Center on charges of an outstanding warrant.

The man's outstanding warrant was a failure to pay a fee for being a minor in possession, according to police reports.

The arresting officer called the suspect and asked to meet him outside of the Sonora Center, police reported.

The suspect obliged and was then put under arrest for his warrant, police reported.

The suspect was transported to the ASU Police Station for processing, but he was unable to arrange for his bond.

He was booked into the Southeast jail.



Tempe Police reported the following incidents Thursday:

A 21-year-old Tempe man was arrested Wednesday night on the 4600 block of South Potter Road and charged with aggravated assault of a police officer.

The man was reportedly under the influence of drugs and broke property at his parents' house, police reported.

He fled the scene before police arrived and assaulted one police officer when he was being detained, according to the reports.

He elbowed the officer in the nose and jaw and had to be subdued by a Taser in order to gain control of him, police reported.



A 39-year-old woman was arrested Wednesday at the Priest Road Family Medical Group, 910 S. Priest Drive, on charges of disorderly conduct.

Medical staff contacted police as they observed her kicking the front driver side door of her husband's vehicle, according to reports.

She was reportedly in a domestic dispute with her husband and threw her keys at him, police reported.

She was very resistant to arrest but calmed down as soon as she was cuffed, according to police reports.

She was booked into the Tempe City Jail and held to see a judge.



A 19-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday afternoon at Arizona Mills Mall, 5000 S. Arizona Mills Circle, on charges of possession of marijuana.

The suspect was approached by Arizona Mills security guards in the Burlington Coat Factory, police reported.

Police reported she had a usable amount of marijuana in her possession.

She stated that it belonged to her, according to police reports.

She was booked into the Tempe City Jail, and her release is pending.



A 31-year-old man was arrested Wednesday morning on the 1800 block of East Apache Boulevard and charged with possession of burglary tools and two stolen vehicles, and a parole violation warrant.

The suspect was transported to the Tempe City Jail and held to see a judge.
