Letters to the Editor: No such thing as 'pro-abortion' side in debate

Risha Brown's letter to the editor [in Thursday's State Press] shows that she has not taken the time to understand her opponents.

Pro-choicers and pro-lifers can agree on more than she'd like to admit.

It's ludicrous to say that pro-choice individuals are against adoption, marriage and having children.

It's equally silly to say that they want women to have abortions all the time.

The truth is, most pro-choicers prefer that abortions be kept to a minimum.

In an ideal world, no one would ever seek an abortion because safe, reliable birth control would be available to all, everyone would be educated on how to use it and the problems of rape and incest would not exist.

Unfortunately, we don't live in fairyland, so it's necessary to keep safe, legal abortion open as a last-resort option.

Koetter's handling of quarterback decision gets ASU gratitude

I would like to take this moment to thank everyone in the ASU football program.

Without your help, my Nebraska Cornhuskers would not have been able to bring in another high-caliber player at the quarterback position.

Your loss is our gain.

I do not blame [Sam Keller] for wanting to leave ASU. If I had been treated like that, whether in sports or work, I feel that my response would have been the same.

How do you demote your starting QB when he was elected to be a captain of your football team?

Good luck with this season and I hope that you realize what a big mistake you have made.
