Winning on the road is never easy in the Pac-10, and the No. 16 ASU baseball team learned that lesson again this weekend against Stanford.

The Cardinal has struggled thus far in conference play, but defeated the Sun Devils 11-4 at Stanford's Sunken Diamond in Sunday's rubber game for a 2-1 series win.

ASU (29-16, 8-7) is now tied with UCLA and Washington for third place in the Pac-10.

The Sun Devils jumped out to an early 3-0 lead after four innings, highlighted by a two-run home run by freshman Brett Wallace. The lead was short-lived, as Stanford scored two runs in its half of the fourth and then eight more in the fifth for a 10-3 lead.

Stanford added another run in the eighth, and an RBI single by ASU junior Colin Curtis in the ninth rounded out the scoring.

On Saturday, ASU got on the board early with eight runs in the first four innings and then held on for an 11-7 win. Stanford trimmed the lead to 8-7, but a two-run double by Wallace and a sacrifice fly by sophomore Eric Sogard in the ninth inning gave the Sun Devils a four-run cushion.

Zechry Zinicola, who was reinstated from a suspension on Thursday, got the start for ASU but allowed four runs in just two innings of work.

Stanford's Greg Reynolds dominated the ASU bats on Friday night, throwing a complete game three-hitter in a 7-1 Cardinal win. It was Stanford's first complete game of the season.

ASU starter Josh Satow was roughed up early, allowing four consecutive batters to reach before getting pulled. Two runs were charged to him, and Satow was saddled with the loss.

Freshman Preston Paramore provided ASU its only offense with a solo homer in the sixth inning.

ASU will now return home for a non-conference matchup with UA Tuesday night at Packard Stadium.
