Students preparing for graduate school and standardized tests can take a free practice exam on campus Saturday.
Undergraduate Student Government and Kaplan, a test-prep company, will offer the tests for free, but take donations for Community Outreach and Advocacy for Refugees.
Students can take the LSAT (law), MCAT (medical), GMAT (business), GRE (graduate), PCAT (pharmacy) and TOEFL (English) tests, said Billie Gelber, graduate program manager at Kaplan.
"This is a community activity to bring awareness and practice to those who want to pursue graduate school," Gelber said.
Bioengineering senior Justin Kiggins said he would take the practice MCAT exam.
"It will be nice to get a feel for the test," he said. "If I feel comfortable, I won't need to spend as much money preparing. If I don't do well, then maybe money will be well spent on a prep class."
USG President Corinne Widmer said the free testing would be a great opportunity for students.
"Students are getting a free test and helping by donating to a great cause," Widmer said.
COAR President Noah Theriault said donations would go to their Volunteer Anchor Program.
"We train [volunteers] to work one-on-one with refugee families that have been resettled here in the Valley," he said.
Donations would cover costs involved with all stages of the program, Theriault said.
"We are hoping for cash donations because for us it is the most flexible," he added. "However, if people were to bring in-kind donations, we will pass on to some of the agencies here in the Valley."
Testing will be held in the Physical Sciences H-wing. Check-in starts in front of the building at 10:45 a.m.
