Former U.S. Sen. Dennis DeConcini and Anne Mariucci, a prominent Arizona businesswoman, took their places on the Arizona Board of Regents earlier this month.
Mariucci and DeConcini were chosen by the governor's office to replace two members whose terms expired, Chris Herstam and Jack Jewett.
Mariucci served as a vice president for construction company Del Webb for several years before running her own investment interests, said Jeanine L'Ecuyer, spokeswoman for the governor's office.
DeConcini was selected for his experience on Capitol Hill, where he helped Arizona universities secure federal funding for research, L'Ecuyer said.
Both will serve as regents for eight-year terms.
