"Redicku-lous" is what he is, and if you don't know about J.J. Redick, you better ask somebody.
After Thursday's game at Virginia Tech, Redick is now three points shy of passing Mike Gminski for 6th place on the Atlantic Coast Conference's all-time scoring list.
A National Association of Basketball Coaches All-American, he's the second-ranked long-range shooter in the ACC and has the best free-throw percentage in NCAA history. Before Duke's first regular season game against Wake Forest, former Demon Deacon guard Chris Paul said, "He [Redick] can shoot from anywhere on the court...it's three points, automatic."
This season, when the Blue Devils faced off with No. 2 Texas, Redick had 41 points on the night as Duke beat the Longhorns, 97-66.
Even while facing extreme crowd adversity and numerous skeptics, Redick has proven over and over that he's one of the best shooters in the country.
Some say he won't make it in the NBA, but Pardon The Interruption's Tony Kornheiser thinks otherwise, saying that the people that don't think he will have an impact in the NBA are insane.
Well put, Tony.
