As we head into the NFL conference championship games this weekend, teams will be playing their hearts out. And leading the charge for one of those teams is a former Sun Devil.
Denver Broncos quarterback Jake Plummer will be attempting to lead his team to the Super Bowl the same way he led ASU to the Rose Bowl during the 1996 season.
During that magical season 10 years ago, Plummer nearly won "The Granddaddy of Them All" on a touchdown run that gave the Sun Devils the lead with just over a minute remaining, only to see Ohio State take it back and seal the victory.
Plummer carried that same zeal into the NFL, and after being banished to the Cardinals for six seasons, Plummer will finally get the chance to display that desire in the AFC Championship game with Denver.
When the Broncos make the Super Bowl, Jake "The Snake" will get a chance he hasn't had since his trip to Pasadena -- the chance to win on the biggest stage of them all.
