Tempe police reported the following incidents Tuesday:

An unidentified man was reportedly hit by a Valley Metro bus as he walked northbound from Priest Drive to Broadway Road Monday night. The man allegedly stepped into the northbound curb lane and was struck by the bus. Police reported the bus driver did not seem to be under the effects of alcohol, although the pedestrian might have been impaired. The man, who had no identification, was transported to Maricopa County Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. The Vehicular Crimes Unit is conducting an investigation.

A 22-year-old Tempe man was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, two counts of felony endangerment and escape. Officers were called to the 1800 block of East Don Carlos Road Tuesday morning when the man reportedly became involved in an argument with his live-in girlfriend. The man allegedly threw a 35- to 40-pound door off his apartment balcony, nearly hitting two people. The man and the victims engaged in oral arguments before the man retrieved two knives and attacked, police reported. One victim sustained minor cuts. The suspect allegedly escaped while being arrested. The man was captured after a two-minute pursuit on foot, a police report stated.
