Polytechnic Campus: ASU works to boost campus shuttle use

ASU will offer free rides to students traveling between its campuses this Wednesday and Thursday to encourage students to use its intercampus shuttle service.

"[The free shuttle] is to let people know that a shuttle exists between campuses," said Christine Lambrakis, assistant director for the Office of Public Affairs at the Polytechnic campus. "It's to raise awareness and increase ridership."

The Polytechnic campus shuttle travels between the Polytechnic campus, Tempe campus and Mesa Community College Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. The shuttle also makes four stops daily at the Superstition Springs Mall.

The West campus shuttle runs from roughly 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and until about 5:30 p.m. Fridays. Schedules are available on the ASU Web site.

Many students who make use of the shuttle are co-enrolled in ASU and Mesa Community College, said Samantha Waller, a nursing sophomore.

"Sometimes it's busier than others, but you can always find a seat."
