Yes, ASU is a land of perpetual summer, but when temperatures dip below 90 degrees and rain starts falling on the malls, it's probably time to ditch the white tank tops and miniskirts that leave oh-so-little to the imagination. Instead of confusing campus with a nudist colony, embrace layering and the wealth of winter-month fashions from which summer has so cruelly deprived us.

Girls: Cowboy Boots
We watched the Channel 3 fashion special, too, and we know they heralded cowboy boots as the new UGGS, but just as those boots should have been left to the Siberians, let's leave these to the real cowfolk. It may be fashionable in Manhattan, what with the urban-cowgirl look, but here it's just too ironic -- people already think Arizona's dirt roads are full of people riding horseback. Let's not perpetuate the image.

Guys: Commie Hats
McCarthy is long gone, so there's no need to worry that while donning a classic and ever-fashionable commie hat -- you know, those cool, short-brimmed caps -- will land you on a black list. We're not suggesting you ditch you worn-out baseball cap, but throw another style into the mix. We promise, choosing between the two wardrobe staples will only add another five seconds (max) to your morning routine.

Guys: Popped Collars
We get it. The moose, the alligator, the tiger, whatever, we all know it means you overspent on your polo. Really, you don't need to take that extra step in popping the collar to let us know that not only do you have problems with money management, but you also have some regrettable yuppie tendencies. Take the cashmere sweater off your shoulders and lower the collar; be content knowing you're sporting a classic look.
