Devil Dish: Always cheer for the hometown

Let's be realistic. ASU fans are not exactly known for their candor.

Visiting football teams are subject to heckling and booing throughout the game, and there is nothing wrong with that. I'm sure the ASU teams get the same treatment when they are on the road.

It is, of course, a different story when the visiting team just had a Category 5 hurricane ravage their state, killing thousands and leaving most of the people in its wake without a bed to sleep in.

Fourteen players on LSU's roster hail from The Big Easy, and many others come from the surrounding areas, which were all greatly affected by Hurricane Katrina.

When the LSU players and fans come to Tempe, do a couple things for them. First, stick with cheering for the Sun Devils and do not boo LSU.

Second, donate as much as you can to the Bush-Clinton Hurricane Relief Fund and the Hurricane Katrina Student Relief Fund when you pick up your wristband.

What goes around comes around. After doing these two simple things, a Sun Devil victory might just come around.
