New Suns owner Robert Sarver made headlines last season by sitting in the front row and rooting on his team in a very public display. In about a week, it'll be seen whether Sarver is truly more of a fan than a businessman.

Free agent shooting guard Joe Johnson is in talks with the Atlanta Hawks on a five-year, $70 million dollar deal. Since he's restricted, it means the Suns can match any offer for Johnson.

So the ball is in Sarver's court. It will be interesting to see if he will bite the bullet and pay for Johnson. The contract seems steep based on Johnson's play thus far in his career, but letting him go would severely dampen Phoenix's championship aspirations.

If Sarver lets Johnson go, his honeymoon with Suns fans will be over. And those antics on the floor won't look nearly as cute as they did last year.
