ASU police reported the following incidents Monday:
An 18-year-old male ASU student was arrested on charges of alcohol possession near Manzanita Hall early Sunday morning. An officer reportedly saw the man as he "looked around, then pulled a can out of his pocket and opened it." The man reportedly told police his age and later "stated he had more beer inside his room" in San Pablo Hall. An officer reportedly "made [the suspect] pour out 16 cans of beer he had in his room and released him at the scene."
A 19-year-old male ASU student was arrested and charged with alcohol possession early Sunday morning at the Commons on Apache, 1111 E. Apache Blvd. An officer on the scene for a disturbance call reportedly saw the suspect "climbing over a first-floor balcony holding an aluminum can." A 12-ounce can of Coors Light also reportedly fell out of the suspect's pocket.
A 20-year-old male ASU student was arrested on Saturday night at the Mona Plummer Aquatic Center on charges of alcohol possession. Police responded to a trespassing call at the center and contacted two males "lying on the ground next to the high diving board trying to hide from [an officer.]" The suspect reportedly told police he had consumed "a few beers," had bloodshot and watery eyes, an odor of alcohol and swayed as he spoke. The man allegedly had a .183 blood-alcohol concentration when tested and was cited and released at the scene.
Tempe police reported the following incident Monday:
Four men were arrested Saturday night at the intersection of Mill Avenue and University Drive on charges of obstructing the roadway. A 23-year-old Mesa man reportedly entered the roadway against a "Don't Walk" sign and obstructed the path of vehicles turning from northbound Mill Avenue to westbound University Drive on a green arrow. A 24-year-old transient man allegedly "consumed Mickey's malt beer while standing in the [westbound lane]" and was also charged with public consumption of alcohol. A 19-year-old transient man and a 30-year-old Kayenta, Ariz., man also allegedly "stopped several times" while crossing University Drive and remained in the intersection through a traffic light cycle. The 19-year-old was also charged with alcohol possession.
