BRAVO to lower health insurance costs for students. Cheaper health care is always welcome.
BRAVO to Debra Friedman. The new dean of the College of Public Programs has a lot on her plate with the move downtown, but we're sure she'll make the transition smooth.
BOO to low turnout for Student Lobby Day. We understand it's hard to get students excited for anything, but 30 students (or fewer) is a far cry from the loud voice we need to send to the Legislature. It's sad, but the only people to blame are students.
BRAVO to Pat's Run. The 4.2-mile race on Saturday is dedicated to former ASU football player Pat Tillman. We'll see you at the race or, if you're in "journalist" shape, we'll see you gasping for air 10 minutes into the race.
BOO to campaign signs. It's obvious these signs are necessary to educate voters about platforms, but do the signs have to be so dorky? Frankly, we can't wait until the planters around campus are sign-free.
BOO to a silent Talk Back line. Aside from one caller who was a day late in encouraging voters for the student government elections, our cherished message box has been quiet. It's fast, simple and a great way to get your voice heard. (480) 965-6881.
BRAVO to the economic impact from the Ironman Arizona Triathlon. If Tempe would only close down Mill Avenue, events such as the race could make this a permanent home.
BOO to late election results. We saw the polls this morning and they were relatively empty. They remained the same all day and we highly doubt there was a huge rush at 8:30 p.m. It's frustrating that our weekend can't begin early. Oh well.
BRAVO to awards. We'll pat our own back for winning a major award this week and also let everyone know that our Web site, www.asuwebdevil.com, is up for a Webby Award. Visit the site to find out more info and give the Web folks some props.
BRAVO to pie ... again. We know we've probably overdone the pie references, but we just wanted to remind everyone about the chance to see the editors take a pie in the face. The event is on Monday at 12:30 p.m. on Hayden Lawn. It was your votes that put us in the pie-zone, so come get your reward.
