Tonight is an important night for the Phoenix Suns.

It marks the last time they will meet the San Antonio Spurs until the Western Conference Finals.

After watching the Suns dismantle the Seattle Supersonics on Sunday, it seems like a foregone conclusion that the Suns and the Spurs are the two best teams in the West. The Suns need to stay competitive against the Spurs to maintain momentum for when the teams face off in the postseason.

The first time these teams met, San Antonio abused the Suns, winning in a blowout. The second time, the Suns led by double digits for most of the second half but lost in overtime.

Tonight's game is pivotal if the Suns want to prove they belong with the NBA's elite.

It seems predestined for these teams to meet in the playoffs, but San Antonio is definitely the team to beat. A win tonight would work wonders for a young Suns team that has the ability to shock the world if its confidence stays high.
