Police Beat:'Lupe man likes his DVDs


Tempe police reported the following incidents Tuesday.

A 28-year-old Mesa man was arrested Tuesday near the 600 block of West Main Street in Mesa. The man was charged with possession of a narcotic drug for sale after police executed a search warrant in the suspect's hotel room. Police reportedly found about one ounce of cocaine in the room.

A 27-year-old Guadalupe man was arrested Monday and charged with shoplifting and aggravated assault near the 1300 block of West Elliot Road. The suspect allegedly removed four DVDs from a store without paying when a security guard confronted him. The suspect then allegedly pulled out a steak knife from his pocket and swung it at the guard. The guard was able to subdue the suspect without injury until police arrived.
