Police tracking lead in Mill Avenue murder case


Police tracking lead in Mill Avenue murder case: Tempe police said the man they are seeking in connection with the death of a 27-year-old Mesa man was involved in another dispute just prior to the incident on Oct 2.

According to police, the man engaged in an altercation with an unknown male subject wearing a New York Yankee's baseball cap outside the Library Bar and Grill located at 501 S. Mill Ave. moments before he allegedly punched Ramon Pinion in the head.

Pinion later died at Scottsdale Osborn Hospital of injuries he received from the altercation in front of My Big Fat Greek Restaurant located at 525 S. Mill Ave.

At this point in the investigation, the man who allegedly punched Pinion has been labeled a person of interest.
