The ASU men's tennis doubles team of senior Andy Colombo and junior Daniel Davies advanced to the quarterfinals of the ITA Regional Tennis Championships in Malibu before falling to UCLA's No. 3-ranked duo of Alberto Francis and Chris Kwinta, 8-3.
The Sun Devils also advanced Colombo and sophomores Chris Biro and Nick Hegarty to the second round of the tournament in singles, but they all fell in the round.
On the women's side, sophomore Vana Tomas and freshman Jessica Leitch each won their first two matches of the ITA Women's Western Regional Championships. Tomas defeated San Diego's Brittaney Reitz and Long Beach State's Nicole Bouffler and will play UCLA's Elizabeth Lumpkin with a quarterfinal berth on the line.
Leitch will take on California-Irvine's Anna Bentzer in her attempt at the quarterfinals.
In doubles play, Joslyn Burkett and Wendy Pilecka advanced to the round of 16, as did Lauren Colalillo and Sabrina Capannolo.
