For fresh, delicious pizza that would please a New Yorker, the place to visit is Otto's Pizza (University Drive & Ash Street). The just-off-Mill Avenue eatery offers sandwiches, calzones and of course, pizza. Walk in the door and the scent of fresh pizza dough hits you, causing your friends to quit bickering over where to eat and grab one of the six indoor tables (hey, it's hot outside).
Otto's is a family-owned and run establishment. You'll likely meet the good- humored Otto (who always has a story to tell) and his family (which denies whatever Otto just told you) when dining. Nearly everyone who works at the small restaurant is related to Otto, who is the owner.
The friendly atmosphere and fresh ingredients bring in a diverse crowd from the body modification fanatics who wander in from the tattoo shop next door to the indie rocker coming in from Eastside Records nearb and the guy from Circle K -- anyone craving killer Italian food feels welcome at Otto's.
Plus, eating at this pizza joint won't break your budget. Servings are large enough to satisfy the biggest stomach and don't underestimate their dessert. Delect-able slices of cake are waiting for you when your sweet tooth hits.
The downside? They're closed on Sundays. So on Sunday try to survive on Top Ramen and Hot Pockets, and then head back to Otto's Monday for lunch.
