Police Beat: Nasty chicken wings too much for transient


Tempe police reported the following incidents Tuesday:

A 52-year-old transient man was arrested on a charge of criminal littering near Mill Avenue and Third Street. Police observed him intentionally throwing paper napkins and cooked chicken wings from a shopping cart he was pulling.

A 23-year-old Tempe man was arrested on charges of criminal damage and possession of drug paraphernalia near the 4100 block of South Mill Avenue. An investigation revealed that he threw a 40-ounce beer bottle at another man's vehicle, breaking the windshield. During a search of his person, a marijuana pipe was found in his left front pants pocket.

A 54-year-old Tempe man was arrested on charges of aggravated assault and domestic violence near the 4100 block of South Darrow Drive. He allegedly slapped his 13-year-old daughter on the left side of her face.

A 45-year-old Phoenix man was arrested on a third degree burglary charge near the 2200 block of West Southern Avenue. An investigation revealed that he took two end tables, valued at $80, and a box of dishes, valued at $50, from a closed, but unsecured storage unit.

ASU police reported the following incidents Tuesday:

A 22-year-old Tempe man was arrested on a DUI charge after allegedly running a stop sign at Lemon Street and McAllister Avenue.

A 19-year-old male student and a 19-year-old female student were arrested on charges of minor in possession of alcohol. They allegedly had a bottle of Mickey's Malt Liquor and a bottle of Steel Reserve Malt Liquor.
