I am absolutely fed up with the Bowl Championship Series. In fact, I'm more than fed up. It is by far the most ridiculous way to determine a champion in any sport on any planet.
I wrote in a column last month, when the first BCS poll came out, that the system was a joke. And this week's rankings proved my point.
Ohio State passed up USC for the No. 2 spot, even though both The Associated Press and coaches' poll have USC at No. 2 and Ohio State at No. 4. The only reason Ohio State is ranked higher is because some computers are saying the Buckeyes have a tougher schedule. It's not USC's fault that Pac-10 teams, including ASU, are playing poorly this season.
Oh, and don't forget about LSU. With one loss, the Tigers are also ranked ahead of Ohio State in the polls but not in the BCS.
PLEASE, GIVE ME MY PLAYOFF. There is no other way to determine a true national champ in college football.
