Police Beat: Camping in the backwoods of Mill Avenue


Tempe police reported the following incidents Tuesday:

A 22-year-old transient man was arrested near the 700 block of South Mill Avenue on charges of urban camping. The man's camp reportedly was equipped with a tent, clothes and a sleeping bag.

A 28-year-old Mesa woman was arrested near the intersection of Guadalupe and Rural roads on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia after she reportedly was found with a glass pipe and five syringes.

A 26-year-old Tempe man was arrested near the 1600 block of South Roberts Road on charges of disorderly conduct after he reportedly yelled and argued with his mother.

A 20-year-old Phoenix man was arrested near the 3200 block of South Mill Avenue on charges of forgery after he reportedly attempted to cash a forged check in the amount of $813.47.

A 23-year-old Phoenix man was arrested near the intersection of Carver and Don Carlos drives on charges of possession of dangerous drugs after a useable amount of methamphetamine reportedly was found on his person.

A Honda Accord reportedly was stolen from Lot 3. Total estimated loss is $5,000.
