Devil Dish: Look north for real football team

While the southern half of Arizona mopes in football hell, the northern country is basking in pigskin heaven.

NAU has won every game this year except for the matchup against the Sun Devils in Tempe on Sept. 6. A few bounces the other way would have made that game a little closer for the Lumberjacks.

The No. 12 'Jacks (5-1, 3-0 Big Sky) are creeping toward the top of the Division I-AA rankings after starting the season out of the top-5.

The reason for this success is freshman quarterback Jason Murrietta, who has become one of the best young signal callers in the country.

At this rate, NAU could be in contention for a national championship this year. That's something that won't be said about ASU this season.

So if you want to see some real football this weekend while ASU is away, head up to Flagstaff to watch a legit contender.
