As if the World's Most Boring Series, Yankees vs. Marlins, weren't bad enough, Democratic hopeful Wesley Clark has added insult to injury - online.
In his latest fund-raising stint, the "Clark '04 Baseball Challenge" allows fans to pledge online bets against the winner of the World Series ... and help him win the White House.
When asked what the hell Clark's team was thinking, Clark spokeswoman Kym Spell said, ''Marlin and Yankee fans tend to be pretty devoted, and we just want to give Clark supporters an opportunity..."
Wait ... back it up. "Tend to be pretty devoted?"
News flash: All the "pretty devoted" baseball fans in the country are curled into the fetal position and wearing their Cubs and Red Sox jerseys right now.
In a potential '04 presidential showdown, I'm not sure who's worse: a former owner of the Texas Rangers who can't even count as high as a pitch count or a general who thinks the Marlins have a fan base.
