It may not be Bourbon Street, but Mardi Gras partygoers won't have to go far to make the most of Fat Tuesday today.
The Bash On Ash - located at 230 W. Fifth St. - is celebrating "Frat Tuesday," allowing people 18 and older into the bar for a $5 cover charge. Ladies over 21 will get in free.
Drinks include $2 Bud and Bud Light, $2.50 Red Stripe from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., and $2 Hurricanes all night.
Sugar Daddy's - located at 3102 N. Scottsdale Road in Scottsdale - has added an additional patio to the premises to hold an anticipated 1,500 people, said Matt Brower, assistant general manager of Sugar Daddy's.
Sugar Daddy's will be selling packages of beads in quantities of 10 to 20. Patrons who purchase beads will have access to an upper level that overlooks the rest of the club. The cost of the beads had not been determined Monday.
"We have two scaffoldings for the tossing of the beads," Brower said. "We expect anywhere from 600 to 800 people to access the area."
The club will feature DJ J. Alan from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., and the band Knee Deep from 8 p.m. until 1 a.m.
Cajun House, located at 7117 E. Third Ave. in Scottsdale, will have The Chadwicks perform because they bring in the "fun, college crowd" that Cajun House strives to attract, said Tracy Lesko, general manager.
The band will go on at 9 p.m. and will play all night. There is a $10 cover charge at the door. Extra beads, masks, and a cajun buffet will be provided upstairs for the cost of $20, Lesko said.
"This is our biggest event of the year," she said.
