Police Beat: Man arrested for eye-drop theft


ASU police did not have any reports available this week.

Tempe police reported the following incidents Tuesday, May 21:

- An 18-year-old male was arrested for assault at 1533 W. Fifth St. after he allegedly pushed his father with both hands during an argument. He was booked into Tempe City Jail.

- A 34-year-old female was arrested for prostitution at 1975 E. Apache Blvd. after she was paid $20 for oral sex. She also had a crack pipe in her pocket.

- A 21-year-old male was arrested for misdemeanor shoplifting at the Sun Foods store, located at 1845 N. Scottsdale Road, after he stole a bottle of eye drops. He was transported and booked into Tempe City Jail and held to see a judge because he was a Kansas resident.

- A 19-year-old female was arrested for criminal possession of a forged document at 64 E. Broadway Road after she presented and attempted to cash a forged check. She was booked and held at Tempe City Jail.

- A 43-year-old female was arrested for identity theft at 1628 E. Southern Ave. after she attempted to obtain three cell phones and three service plans while using another person's name.

- A 22-year-old male was arrested for driving on a suspended license after being observed from Priest Drive to Fifth Street. He told police that he knew he was driving with a suspended license. He was transported to Tempe City Jail.

- A 25-year-old male driving a pick up truck rear-ended a Honda Accord at Priest and University drives. He also failed a field sobriety test and was transported to Tempe St. Lukes for blood draw. He was booked into Tempe City Jail.

- A 22-year-old male was arrested for aggravated assault at 140 E. Fifth St. for committing assault on May 12 at 5235 S. Kyrene Road. The man had allegedly punched and kicked another man repeatedly in the head and rib area.
