Police say there is a suspect in the January murder of an ASU student but declined to give any information while the investigation is pending.

Officials said the suspect is not in custody.

Andrew Tucker, an 19-year-old broadcasting freshman, was found dead in his Best Hall Room Jan. 21, after his friends had asked police to check on him. Friends said they had not seen Tucker for three days.

The Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office released information last week ruling the death a homicide due to acute morphine intoxication, meaning the death was caused by a heroin overdose.

Tucker was last seen with his girlfriend, but police say she is not a suspect.

ASU police Detective Darel Lasiter said police could not discuss the case until the grand jury decides whether to indict the suspect. The case is expected to go to a grand jury in coming weeks.
