Dorm-dwellers talk about San Pablo

The new San Pablo dorm located in North campus has impressed its residents.

The Freshman Year Experience dorm opened this semester after delays during construction. It features suite-style bedrooms and all floors are coed.

"Everything is really clean and new," said Chris Thompson, a business freshman.

While the 125 room residence hall is not yet completely full, there is still a feeling of closeness among residents.

"We don't associate only with people on our floor," said undeclared freshman Robert Bresee. "Everyone is friendly because of the open courtyard, no matter what floor they live on."

Roommates Nicole Schmidt and Katie Digan said they liked not having smelly hallways, like in other dorms, and that having grass in the courtyard was "awesome".

"I wish the windows would open for more air flow," said business sophomore Luke Graven.

That was the only complaint, echoed by several different residents.
