Games, free food, and ASU student organizations were all part of ASU Spirit Day on Hayden Lawn Friday afternoon.
Turnout was modest and, at times, it looked like there were more booths than people to visit them.
Excessive laughter was coming from the dunking machine. Sun Devil males surrounded the machine giving their hardest throw in hopes of dunking the daring volunteer.
Phil Root, a secondary education major and director of Pep Rally's, was screaming "Holy cow!", "Somebody give me a beer," and "Seriously folks this is just out of control," while he was spinning rapidly around on the one-person gravity ride.
Root said he loves ASU and all the ASU athletic events.
There were different booths set up to inform students about all the various clubs and activities available to students at ASU.
Student Alumni Association, R.E.S.C.U.E mission, Bibles of America, and Greek Life were just a few of the clubs with booths set up on Hayden Lawn.
Allissa Kelly, an Alpha Chi Omega junior and marketing major was volunteering at the Greek Life booth promoting Greek involvement at ASU.
"I think it is important because Greek Life is starting to go down and needs to be considered a positive thing," she said.
Kelly also said Greeks are one of the largest organizations on campus and they help add spirit to ASU.
Despite the information booths, many students were drawn to the excitement of the dunking booth.
Broadcasting junior Neil Brice was walking by Hayden Lawn and was magnetized to the dunking machine.
"I'm just trying to dunk the dude," Brice said.
Brice thinks ASU has done a good job advertising activities available on campus, but he said he doesn't have school spirit because ASU is too big.
