ASU police recovered a stolen car in a university parking lot across the street from Cholla Hall Monday.
When police officers checked the license plate of a suspicious looking car in Lot 63, it revealed that the car had been stolen.
More police arrived at the scene, and arrested the two men inside the car, neither of whom were ASU students.
Students from Cholla who were trying to get their cars were detained until after the suspects had been placed into the squad car.
"I just came to move my car," said Steve Mindel, an information technology major. "I didn't expect a police shoot-out!"
While policed were forced to draw their weapons, no shots were fired.
Several items were removed from the car, including something wrapped in a plastic bag. It is not yet known if the items are illegal or stolen.
The owner of the car was contacted and is attempting to get her car back.
