An ASU police cruiser turns from Mill Avenue onto Fifth Street in Tempe, Arizona, on Oct. 19, 2014.

ASU Police arrested a former student on charges of terroristic threats, disruption of an educational institution and possession of marijuana after receiving a threat against Sun Devil Athletics Feb. 23.

ASU Police spokesperson, Katy Harris, said the department received information about "threats of violence against members of the Sun Devil athletics community" at noon.

Reports of the threat began spreading on social media that evening.

Edward Robinson, a former ASU student, was taken into custody off-campus with no issue at about 8 p.m., and the threat had no impact on campus activities.

"He is a former ASU student but has not been enrolled in more than a year," Harris said.
