ASU wrapped up the U of A Tournament victorious on Sunday with a 3-0 win over Northern Illinois.

The Sun Devils (4-2-1) broke their two-game losing streak with goals from junior midfielder Aly Moon, junior forward Jazmarie Mader and an own-goal by the Huskies (1-4-1).

The own-goal by NIU sophomore forward Kate Sanfilippo in the 8th minute gave ASU an early 1-0 lead.

Head coach Kevin Boyd started freshman Emma Malsy in goal for the second straight game, even after a tough loss in overtime on Friday night.

Malsy made five saves on the day, and recorded her first career shutout for the Sun Devils.

Moon scored her first goal of the season since relocating to the midfield position from forward. A long pass from redshirt senior midfielder Lucy Lara found the feet of Moon, whose first shot was deflected by the goalkeeper, but rebounded right back allowing her to punch it in.

The Sun Devils allowed just one NIU shot in the first half, and took a 2-0 lead into the break.

Mader put home the only goal of the second half, scoring for the sixth consecutive game this season. After getting tackled in the box, Mader took the penalty kick and drove it in for ASU, bringing the final margin to 3-0.

The Sun Devils took 20 shots during the match, 14 of which were on goal. The Huskies finished the match with only six shots.

ASU will return to action on Friday for a home matchup in Tempe against Cal State Fullerton at 4 p.m.
