ASU baseball went from eight straight wins to four straight losses in this past week.

The Sun Devils travelled north to open conference play against now No. 3 Oregon State, hoping to start off the Pac-12 with a positive record. Instead, they came back to Tempe with three losses.

Tuesday night brought a fourth straight loss against the University of San Diego.

Last month, head coach Tracy Smith reiterated that the team would be moving some players around to see who worked best in different positions. It appeared things had been solidified as non-conference play wrapped up, but the Pac-12 has different competition and it now is evident things will be switched up again.

Thursday night, ASU will open up the Pac-12 home slate against Utah (6-12, 2-1 Pac-12). The Utes are coming off a 2-3 series win against Oregon last weekend.

This week on Dirt on the Spikes we discuss the Oregon State series, Tuesday's midweek against San Diego and the potential that the Sun Devils have heading into the Utah series.
