Tempe Police reported the follow incidents on Monday:
An 18-year-old Tempe man was arrested on Jan. 6 at Price Road and Warner Road on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, drive-by shooting, weapon possession in a drug offense and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to a police report.
The man was the passenger in a car fleeing from police when he fired one shot into the air in an attempt to deter law enforcement, officers reported.
The chase stopped when the driver of the car collided with a median and the man tried to hide behind other vehicles, according to the report.
The man told officers he threw the weapon underneath a car to try and hide it from police, officers reported.
Upon search, officers found marijuana in the vehicle and a marijuana grinder in his pockets, according to the report.
The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked, according to the report.
A 23-year-old Gilbert woman was arrested on Jan. 11 at the 2300 block of West Baseline Road on suspicion of shoplifting and possession of narcotic drugs and drug paraphernalia, according to a police report.
Officers were called to the scene after an employee informed the authorities of a suspicious looking man and a woman,
The woman told officers that the man who was stealing items from the store handed her the backpack of stolen

The woman was transported to Tempe City Jail, where she was booked and held to see a judge, according to the report.
