Sun Devil hockey has released junior defenseman Connor Schmidt and freshman forward Charlie Zuccarini, Walter Cronkite Sports Network's Jayson Chesler reported Wednesday.

According to Walter Cronkite Sports Network, Schmidt was released upon a violation of team rules, and Zuccarini's release was part of a mutual agreement.
Neither Zuccarini nor Schmidt are still on the team's roster on the Sun Devil athletics' official website.
A spokesperson for Sun Devil hockey would not comment on the matter.
Zuccarini played eight games for the Sun Devils this season, scoring two goals with no assists on 11 shots. Schmidt played 15 games with no points, posting a -6 plus/minus and 16 penalty minutes.
The Sun Devils have currently lost 13 straight games.
