Senior forward Cali Farquharson's spirits may be up.
She was drafted to the Washington Spirits professional women's soccer team twelfth overall on Friday morning.
Farquharson ended her ASU soccer career with 44 goals, the second-most of all time for the Sun Devils. She had 102 total points, also second-best in school history.
She scored at least 10 goals in every season for ASU, becoming the first player to do so.
This comes after missing four games due to injury in her senior year. The team felt her absence heavily; it lost all of these games, which fell in the middle of a seven-game losing streak.
Farquharson was taken later than some expected. A mock draft done by The Equalizer put her at number seven overall, and Top Drawer Soccer placed her at number 10.
Picked 12, she fell out of the first round.
Her teammate at ASU, senior defender McKenzie Berryhill, was drafted to the Portland Thorns with the first pick in the third round.
At ASU, Berryhill turned into a strong defender and helped the team start 4-0 in her senior year. She was named to the NSCAA All-Region and Pac-12 team twice.
Editor's note: This article was updated to include information about Berryhill after she was drafted.
