ASU junior goaltender Robert Levin warms up before the team's season opener versus Arizona at Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona.

Pac-12 Networks has selected ASU hockey's games against Yale on Jan. 8 and the U.S. National U-18 team on Feb. 28 to televise as the network's first NCAA hockey broadcasts, the Pac-12 Conference and Sun Devil Athletics announced on Monday.

Both of the games will be played at Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona, which is also the home of the Arizona Coyotes. The game against Yale is the first contest in the Desert Hockey Classic that ASU is hosting. The second televised game is the team's final regular-season game.

Dustin Rocke, the vice president of programming and development for Pac-12 Networks, said in a press release that the network is excited to showcase Sun Devil hockey in its inaugural season as an NCAA squad.

"Pac-12 Networks continues to strive to showcase the best student-athletes from across the conference, and we're looking forward to introducing our fans to college hockey," he said in the press release.

In the same press release, ASU head coach Greg Powers said it is great to see the two featured games get broadcast nationally.

“I want to thank the Pac-12 Networks for their coverage of Sun Devil Hockey," he said. "The opportunity is a great step for this program to gain exposure on the national stage."

The announcement comes about a year after ASU announced ice hockey as its 23rd NCAA varsity sport.
