Tempe Police reported the following incident Monday:

A California man was arrested Oct. 21 in the 800 block of South Mill Avenue on suspicion of stealing a credit card, possession of stolen property and providing false information to police, according to a police report.

Police were called when the man attempted to use the credit card to make a purchase on Oct. 20 at a CVS Pharmacy drug store located on University Drive and Mill Avenue in Tempe, police reported.

The next day, the man used a Starbucks gold card to make a purchase at a Starbucks on Mill Avenue, according to the report.

The man was recognized by a CVS employee on Oct. 21 and the employee alerted the police, police reported. When police confronted the man, he gave them a fake identity, according to the report.

The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was held to see a judge, police reported.
