It wasn't the ideal way to end a road trip, but it surely beats the alternative that ASU soccer had experienced in its last seven games.
The Sun Devils (4-7-1) broke a seven game losing streak, battling UCLA in double overtime to a 1-1 draw.
UCLA started hot out of the gate, and attacked ASU's back line, taking the lead in the first eight minutes of the game off of senior forward Kodi Lavrusky's shot from about 10 yards behind the top of the box, tucked over the shoulder of ASU senior goalkeeper Chandler Morris in the top right corner of the net.

The Sun Devils tied the game back up five minutes later, as sophomore Jessica Raybe settled down a cross pass from sophomore Aly Moon, dribbled around the box and lasered the ball into the top right hand corner of the net.

From that point on, both teams had plenty of shots (28 in total) but failed to connect again in regulation.
The stellar defense on both sides extended the game to double overtime, which came at an additional cost, both in terms of energy expended and discipline. ASU was whistled for 18 fouls and UCLA was called for eight.
Raybe was tabbed for a yellow card toward the end of double overtime.
ASU will travel to Seattle to face Washington on Thursday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m.
