A 47-year-old Connecticut man was arrested Aug. 25 on the 1800 block of East Rio Salado Parkway on suspicion of shoplifting and drug paraphernalia possession, according to a police report.
Employees at a store in Tempe Marketplace noticed a customer leaving the store without paying for an item he had hidden in his pocket, police reported.
The man used a razor blade to cut Xbox parts from its packaging before the employees saw him, according to the report.
When officers questioned the man, they found an item of drug paraphernalia in his pocket as well, police reported.
An 18-year-old Tempe man was arrested Aug. 26 on the 1200 block of South Rural Road on suspicion of marijuana possession, giving officers a false ID and having liquor, according to a police report.
The man was stopped by officers after leaving a store with three bottles of New Amsterdam vodka because he seemed to be underage, police reported.
He told officers he didn't have his ID with him when they asked him how old he was, according to the report. After asking several more questions, the man gave officers a fake ID and told them he was only 18-years-old, police reported.
The man told officers he had used this ID to buy the alcohol, according to the report.
