ASU soccer dropped its third straight game, falling 2-0 to Oklahoma Sunday.
During its three-game slide, ASU has been outscored 6-2 after starting the season outscoring opponents 16-0.
Today's game marked the first time this year the No. 18 Sun Devils (4-3) have been outshot by the opposing team. The Sooners (5-4) tallied 16 shots compared 11 by ASU.
The game was scoreless for the majority of the first half until Oklahoma junior forward Caren Nelson scored her fourth goal of the season in the 41st minute.
The Sooners increased their lead in the 70th minute after a ASU was called with a foul in the penalty box. Senior defender Laura Rayfield scored the penalty kick to put Oklahoma up 2-0.
Oklahoma junior goalkeeper Kassidie Stade held firm with five saves on the afternoon.
Redshirt junior midfielder Lucy Lara continued to be one of the most dangerous players on offense for ASU, firing two shots on goal and four shots in total.
The Sun Devils were without star forward Cali Farquharson, who left Friday's match against Oklahoma State early in the second half. Farquharson leads the team with five goals this season.
The Sun Devils won their first three home games to start off the year and then split their two neutral games in Tucson, but remains winless on the road.
Redshirt sophomore goal keeper Chandler Morris is still tied for first in school history for shutouts with 23. She has been looking to break the record since the 5-0 shut-out victory against Pepperdine on September 11.
ASU opens conference play against Washington State at home on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 11 a.m.
