Jaelen Strong's NFL draft tumble inspires hilarious character concerns

Football Jaelen Strong University of Arizona

Redshirt junior wide receiver Jaelen Strong reacts after dropping a pass in a game against the University of Arizona, Friday, Nov. 28, 2014 at Arizona Stadium in Tucson. The Wildcats defeated the Sun Devils 42-35.

When the second round of the NFL draft began on Friday, former ASU wide receiver Jaelen Strong was Mel Kiper Jr.'s best remaining player.

As the second round nears its conclusion, Strong still has not been selected, and it's not clear why. Strong doesn't know why either.

His speed concerns were reduced after his 4.44 40-yard dash time at the NFL combine. Perhaps it was the wrist, which NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported would need surgery, citing sources. But Strong didn't agree, and said he played five games with the injury.

In the second round of the draft, Twitter users figured out the real reason why Strong has dropped so far: character concerns. @Peggy4ASU started the hashtag #FakeJaelenCharacterConcerns and it quickly gained steam.

Update (6:52 p.m.): Strong was selected in the third round (No. 70 overall) by the Houston Texans
