Noble Library to reopen for fall 2015 semester after flooding

Noble Library is slated to reopen at the start of the fall 2015 semester after flooding in March.

Noble Library flooding

Signs of the Noble Library closure are obvious with blockades in front of the building on March 17, 2015.

Noble Library is expected to be reopened and fully operational at the start of the fall 2015 semester, ASU officials said.

Kevin Galvin, vice president of media relations and strategic communications, confirmed that when the building is reopened it will feature some improvements, including space repurposing.

The library flooded on March 6 after a fire protection sprinkler system failed. In an interview with The State Press, ASU’s executive director of capital programs Bruce Jensen said the majority of the damage was limited to the atrium and floors of the building.

Galvin said parts of the building could have been reopened during the spring semester, but University officials decided this was a good opportunity to make some changes to the building.
